Feeling gratitude and not expressing it is like wrapping a present and not giving it.
- William Arthur Ward

I know I have written about gratitude many times before, but when I sit down to write, that’s what is on my mind. I can’t help it, I know that I have more to be grateful for than I could ever put into words.

Today, I am again eternally grateful for all of the people in my life that have loved me, supported me, and have made it possible for me to become the person that I am.

It’s one of the driving forces behind my desire to coach – I get the opportunity to help others to live the life that they have dreamed for themselves. For this too, I am grateful.

So what triggered this new round of gratitude?

Over the weekend, I got a chance to spend time with a group of friends at a reunion. As I was catching up with the ones I don’t see often, and chatting with the ones I do, I had one of those moments where you realize where you are, how wonderful the people surrounding you are, and poof – instant overwhelming gratitude.

So, as the Holiday season continues, and we move forward towards the end of this year, I hope that you find yourself surrounded by the people that love and support you.
Take a moment while you are with them to appreciate what they mean to you, and how wonderful they are.

It’s an amazing thing.

Happy, Happy Holidays.

The person who really wants to do something finds a way; the other person finds an excuse. ~Author Unknown

I am very good at finding excuses for why I am not doing the things I say that are important to me.

I’m too tired, or busy or I have too many other things that require my attention.
So as a result, there promises made to myself to complete certain things, that don’t get done.
Ok, so it’s easy to see why my certain things like cleaning out a closet, or doing tax prep get set aside: they are not that fun to do – even if it would make my life easier in the long run.
However, what about stuff like, writing this blog or spending time creating? I love doing both of those things; I should look forward to devoting time to these.
Why do I allow a television program, or being a little tired to sidetrack me off of my path?

For me it comes down to 7 words…It’s easier to just not do it.

Easier. Yup. The couch, and the TV are easy and don’t demand anything of me – not my attention or my creativity or even my wakefulness.

It’s just easier to not do it.

So, what’s the answer?

It’s about choice. It always comes back to that.

I can choose me. Or I can choose the something that will only keep me from being all that I want to be. It’s as simple as that. (Oh, and don’t confuse simple with easy, it is not easy, it fact it is quite a challenge)

Choice. Each day, every moment.
What are you doing? Is it helping you to become what you want, accomplish what you want, or is it just filling your time?

Are there things you are not doing because it is “just easier not to do them”?
